Wow.
There is less than three weeks left until Christmas!
Some people are smart and buy their presents months in advance.
It is a bit overwhelming if you haven’t bought your presents yet and left it till the last minute, like me.
But rest assured.
There are local events around the corner that will have many gifts for the whole family.
This Friday, December 8, will be the huge Christmas on Fitzgerald event where the main street of Northam will shut down from 4pm onwards to welcome shops and food vendors.
This year, all food vendors and retail stores will be local which is another reason to do your Christmas shopping at the event and support local businesses.
The event will also have live-music, pop-up-bar, Santa will roll in on a sleigh and ongoing entertainment will be provided for the children.
The following morning the the Clackline Store will be holding its community Christmas markets starting from 7.30am.
That evening, Bakers Hill will be holding their Christmas Fair from 5-9pm at the Bakers Hill Recreation Centre and Oval.
Entertainment includes the ride-on-a-mower Grand Prix, indoor market stalls, live local entertainment, community group activities, food vendors and a visit from Santa.
Once you have relaxed and got all your presents sorted, you can enjoy some other Christmas activites like checking out local decorations.
For more information on what houses will have lights displayed, go to the Facebook page Northam Christmas Lights.
For some sing-along entertainment, Link Theatre will be holding their last show for the year, Mad About Musicals on December 15 and 16.
Singing along to this show on its opening night will prepare you for the Northam Christmas Carols on December 16, from 6-9pm at Henry Street Oval.
All proceeds from the alcohol-free family event will go towards chaplaincy services in the Wheatbelt.
Phew – I hope that will keep you entertained and in the festive mood until Christmas day.
Enjoy.
