The Northam Senior High School Arts Showcase was held last Wednesday night which highlighted the local students’ creativity.
The show included performances by the Dance and Drama Club and had an exhibition that showed visual art and photography work by Year 7 to 12 students.
The drama and dance performance was MC’d by Year 9 student, Sophie Quin who kept the audience informed about the different acts. She also delivered an impressive monologue about teenage anxiety and depression.
The dance students shone, performing a number of high energy acts from hip hop to contemporary.
The art on display featured ply wood skate decks painted with acrylic paint, a range of ceramic objects adorned in glazes, watercolours and paints, printmaking, drawing and canvas art.
Northam Senior High School teacher Michelle Joyce said it was a wonderful afternoon.
“The vibe was electric!” she said.
“Both the performative and visual work was a testament to the students and teachers.”
