LAST Saturday was the Alan Beer Memorial Trophy, an annual event to remember a great golfer and clubman.
With the course in great condition and a perfect spring day, scores were expected to be high.
One particular golfer, Mike Spadaccini, was having a great day out – scoring 43 points to romp home six points ahead of the nearest competitor.
Runner-up was Peter Oliver with 37 points and third place went to Captain Scrounger himself Terry Lawler with 36 points.
Not content with winning the day Spadaccini also took out most of the novelties, as well having the best shot on No. 1 and the longest second shot on No. 3.
Geoff Dickson had the longest chip or putt on No. 13 and Mick Wladyka best second shot on No. 17.
