The Keller/Tammin Kats will hold the second Aaron Taylor Medal this weekend, in tribute to past player “Azza” who died away 18 months ago.
Aaron was a local boy from Tammin who played on the 2009 Reserves Premiership Kats team and is remembered for his speed and “gazelle like” running down the wing.
The game will be played in Tammin at Donnan Park against York this Sunday, April 23. The winning team will be presented with a medal from his parents, with an engraved picture of Aaron after the A grade game.
Keller/Tammin Football president Trevor Ryan said the day provides the chance to recognise a local fine sportsman who represented the club and the community so well.
“Aaron was mates with everyone at the club and his laugh would fill the changerooms with joy,” he said.
“Last year the day was well supported – Aarons wife and family travelled from Mandurah for the event.
“We hope people will come down and support the event.”
Ryan said Aaron was a highly respected player of the Kats football club, and an integral part of the 2009 Reserves Premiership, defeating Railways, and the 2011 League Premiership.
