Entries are open for this year's Avon Descent.
This two-day, high-speed, adrenaline-filled 124km paddle craft and power boat race from Northam to Bayswater is set to make a splash this year with a focus to engage the younger competitors getting involved with the event.
Northam Avon Descent Association chairman Greg Kaeding said it was a community event.
"It continues to focus on engaging the community and recruiting, training and developing an ongoing pool of community volunteers who are inspired and motivated by those individuals and families that seek that unique challenge of mind, body and spirit that is the Avon Descent," he said.
"We are pleased to welcome back our international competitors and Olympians who so successfully challenged the river in high water conditions last year.
"But above all, we welcome our returning local and national champions and novice participants alike, to again - 'Take The Plunge'."
