The Killara Day Centre and Respite Service held its annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon last Tuesday for clients in the local community.
The centre was decked out as Flemington Racecourse, with patrons and staff getting into the spirit of the Cup by dressing up and wearing fascinators and hats.
The winner of the best dressed contest went to Shirley Stevens from Northam and best hat or fascinator was won by Bakers Hill resident Barbara Paton.
Clients enjoyed a day of fun activities and games all relating to the Melbourne Cup, but watching the Melbourne cup on the TV was of course the highlight of the day, exciting many of the patrons and staff.
The centre provides day care, respite and social support services.
