Dear Editor,
I refer to an electrical power station to be built about two kilometres east of Cunderdin along the Great Eastern Hwy.
The developer gained approval from the Cunderdin Shire and Development Assessment Panel in November 2016.
We live directly opposite the development site.
We have totally opposed the approval right from the start of this project at a Council and Development Assessment Panel level.
We cited health, safety, fire, environmental and visual issues along with protection of our mains water supply. Our concerns have fallen on deaf ears and as a consequence we are having to sell our properties.
We have spent a great deal of money on our properties along with thousands of man hours. This was our dream.
We did not move to Cunderdin to live next to an electrical power station.

The proposal put forward by Sun Brilliance was that the site for this power station was away from residential areas which is not the case as we live directly across the road.
We can only say that there must be some danger if the Electrical Power Station site is away from residential areas.
Even the Development Assessment Panel refers to our properties as our residences, which is contradictory.
We did not move to Cunderdin to live next to an electrical power station.
Everybody has a right to be and feel safe in their homes and this no longer the case for us.
Our folks did not go to war for this to happen to us or anybody else.
Another insult.
The developer has a two year span in which to develop the site and almost a year has passed and there has been no start to the project.
During this year or so our lives have been basically on hold in building on our own properties as we do not know if we have to leave our properties.
It is becoming a virtual full time job to protect our properties.
We have spent a considerable amount of money thus far and it appears much more will be spent.
We desperately need closure to this and say either buy us out or leave the area. We prefer they left and give us our lives back.
Regards
Ray Lehman, Cunderdin.
