OPENING round of the 40 over season is now done.
With a very warm start there ended up only being one game played, as the Ballardong team forfeited to Grass Valley.
The Grass Valley Green team had the bye, leaving the only game up to Bakers Hill hosting Toodyay.
Toodyay won the toss and chose to bat, unfortunately only posting a total of 77 runs for Bakers Hill to make up, the home side went in and passed the score.
Bakers Hill finished all out with a total of 103 runs.
Well done to the Bakers boys for a great game and your hospitality after the game is always appreciated.
Would just like to put a get well message out there for Bakers Hill star batsmen on the day, Matt Turner.
He was going for a sweep shot (after already hitting a few 6’s, one landing on the Bakers Hill Recreation Centre roof!) off Jack Borrett’s bowling and the ball only got the edge of the bat and then went on to clip his forehead.
Matt retired hurt for the game and went to the Northam Hospital where he was given 13 stitches.
I have since seen him from the game and he is doing well.
Enjoy the time off Matt, and from the Northam Cricket Association, we look forward to your return and seeing the cool scar.
