Northam Shire residents Alison Fox and Sarah Jackson were the winners of the annual incentive competition for early rates payment.
The two winners received a $500 cheque from BankWest Northam, handed over by the branch manager Ken Thomas last Thursday.
Steven Pollard also attended the presentation and congratulated the winners.
Other prizes given to residents included a weekend stay at Perth Ambassador Hotel, a $250 cash prize from Bendigo Bank, $300 weekend stay at the Windsor Lodge Como, double passes to the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and retail, cafe and restaurant vouchers.
Shire of Northam rates officer Codey Redmond said the competition provides a chance to congratulate residents with a range of prizes donated by local businesses for paying their rates on time.
He added that it also provides an incentive for others to try and get in early. Last year, Northam Shire residents Gail Johansen and Coral Blasgund were the lucky winners.
