REGIONAL Western Australia will be the first to experience Fast5 netball, when the new program launches at Beverley Netball Club later this month.
The six-week mixed league follows a number of successful pilot programs held in Belmont, and at the State Netball Centre, earlier this year.
Fast5 Netball is the newest and most dynamic form of the game, with shorter quarters, rolling substitutions, five players per side, one-, two- and three-point shots and Power Plays to double a score.
Netball WA general manager of community netball Liz Booth said it was an exciting time for the sport.
“Our game has never been more accessible to those who want to play netball,” Booth said.
“Fast5 netball appeals to everyone, and we’re looking forward to seeing this dynamic new format reach new heights over the coming weeks and into 2018.”
“We’re extremely excited to be launching the program in Beverley and I am confident there will be a strong turnout for all six weeks.”
The Beverley Netball Club Fast5 netball competition runs every Friday from October 20 to November 24 at 7pm at a cost of $5 per game.
