Ballooning runs in Courtney Tetlow’s family, and she will be continuing the dynasty by learning to fly herself.
“I was three when I had my first flight,” she said.
“It’s a normal thing for me.

“Dad’s flown, my grandfather's flown. “I am doing it so I can fly recreationally – and also to scare mum because she doesn’t like it!” she said.
Courtney and her two other brothers are training at the moment, but she is still in the early stages.
“We have to sit exams and do 15 hours flying with an instructor,” she said.
“You have to demonstrate your knowledge and then you do some solo flights. “Then you can apply and hopefully get your licence at the end.”
Courtney’s brother has recently bought a second-hand balloon for about $23,000.
“But a lot of it has been passed down through generations – we are very lucky,” she said.
Courtney’s dad Sven Tetlow is registered as a competitor in the National Ballooning Championships in Northam, and Courtney will be helping him during the competition.
