The Federals Football Club took advantage of the crowd swell in town for the Avon Descent and used the occasion to raise some money for the club.
Club president Phil Robinson and member Tony Hicks set up a stall at the Avon River Festival to sell tickets for a wood raffle.
Phil said the event provided a good opportunity to raise money for the club.
“They’re cheap tickets – and everyone needs wood at this time of year!” he said.
A team of Federals volunteers also set up a food and coffee stall on Broome Terrace, on the morning of the Avon Descent to catch the early risers who watched the start of the race.
Federals member Dianne Robinson said five hot air balloons joined the volunteers.
The team recently held a fundraising music night and regularly do catering at community events.
“The ladies group do a great job,” Phil said.
He said the club will also be involved in the National Ballooning Championships this year.
