From 1 July 2017, WA Health is making changes to statewide child health services to better meet the needs of children and their families.
Child health services are becoming more flexible and will provide families with extra support at times when needed most.
This includes extra appointments for families needing additional support, and offering group and drop in sessions.
WA Country Health Service Wheatbelt child health nurses are excited to bring the changes to child health checks to the region.
The Purple Book has been modified to include the new universal schedule, with checks at 12 months and two years, which will better fit with the stages of a child’s growth and learning before they begin school.
If your child’s Purple Book doesn’t yet include this information, the child health nurse will provide new pages at your next appointment to help you follow the new schedule.
For further information around the new schedule please contact your local Child Health Nurse or call Community Health on 9690 1320.
