The Northam Juniper residency celebrated NAIDOC Week by inviting a Balladong elder to speak about the Aboriginal culture to residents.
The staff made ‘roo sausage rolls for the occasion, damper and indigenous themed cup cakes.
Elder Deborah Moody started the event with a Welcome to Country.
The residents were shown Aboriginal artifacts including a boomerang, spears and shields.
Ms Moody explained how the items were used in the bush.
She explained interesting facts about the Aboriginal culture and answered questions.
Juniper residential manager Glenda Kirkman said the residency is home to indigenous residents so they wanted to celebrate their culture during NAIDOC Week.
