LAST Saturday a quality field was present to contest the Specialized Tree Services trophy, a stableford event.
Having two players in the field with the name of Woods and the sponsor being a tree specialist it could have produced a great story and headline if either of them won.
Unfortunately Geoff Hall had other plans and with a great score of 41 points was too strong for the Woods and the rest of the field, winning the day.
Rob Lucy and Matt Woods both had scores of 38 points with Lucy winning on a countback.
Woods still had a good day winning the gross with a score of 30 points.
Novelties: No. 5 longest putt Peter Bray; No. 9 longest putt Geoff Hall; No. 13 longest drive Matt Woods; No. 16 best second shot Rob Lucy.
Neil James added a spark to his score by producing a perfect chip from 15 metres out on No. 15, scoring an eagle.
