The Railways Football Club hosted Brownlow medallist Dane Swan and West Coast Eagles legend Glen Jakovich on Tuesday at the Northam Recreation Centre.
Glen Jakovich kicked off the night with stories from his long career, which started out as a young South Freo WAFL player turned recruit for the Eagles at 18-years-old.
The 44-year-old said Wagin boy Peter Matera was the best player in his time and Mick Malthouse was an excellent coach.
He then invited down to earth football star Dane Swan onto the stage and asked him questions, in front of the packed room of around 160 people.
Dane told the crowd he was on Schoolies when he found out he was drafted in the AFL.
He spoke of his rebellious ways as a young recruit, drinking every weekend and not caring about the opportunity that was in front of him.
Swan said the moment he started to put in effort was when he had a run in with the law and thought he would be ousted from Collingwood.
From that moment he decided to put in effort and give footy a real crack.
