Northam Shire councillors voted to waive the fees for the use of the Northam Recreation Centre and Jubilee Oval for a charity mountain bike event held in the town earlier this month.
Last Wednesday night councillors agreed with a shire officer recommendation not to charge Youth Futures the $864.50 in costs.
The event followed the pipeline from Kalgoorlie to Perth, raising money for homeless and disadvantaged people. Cr Terry Little asked that for future events, organisations should make their applications earlier.
