The 27-year-old man accused of throwing a bottle of beer at power lifter Kat Becker in a road rage attack, appeared in Northam Magistrates Court today.
Police allege Ms Becker was injured in Wundowie on February 2, after she and partner Rie Rumbold became involved in a “give way” standoff with Ashly Cotterill.
The fly-in-fly-out worker appeared in court charged with unlawful wounding over the incident with Ms Becker and a separate charge of reckless driving in a confiscation zone in Northam on January 20, 2017.
Ms Becker received plastic surgery and stitches to her nose, upper eye and forehead following the incident.
Aboriginal Legal Service court officer Sylvia Crombie told the court Cotterill maintained his plea of not guilty in respect to the unlawful wounding charge.
A trial allocation date was set for December 1, 2017, in the Northam Magistrates Court.
He has been remanded on the reckless driving charge for legal advice to reappear on June 12, 2017.
His bail has been extended on the same terms.
