PINK went the shears as the Jumbuk Shearing team kicked into action at the fourth annual ‘Shearing for Liz’ day at Yorkrakine on Sunday, April 9, raising money for breast cancer research.
The Davies family’s Cardiff stud shearing shed was a sea of pink and decorated with bra streams yet again for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) fundraiser.
Last year shearer Lindsay Hill put on a brave face as he had his well-known ponytail cut off for the cause. This year he ensured the rams all received a short back and sides.
The first event was held in 2013 and it continues to grow every year.
Georgie and Ambrose Knock and son Henry, Yorkrakine, attended the annual fundraising event at the farm owned by Quentin and Dianne Davies.
This year there was a record $21,500 raised, taking the total in four years to more than $50,000.
The Jumbuk Shearing team worked their way through about 240 Cardiff stud ram lambs and the shearers, wool classer and shed hand donated all their wages to the NBCF.
