Shire of Northam chief executive officer Jason Whiteaker has extended an invite to new Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan, asking her to visit Northam to discuss future ambitions for the Shire.
Mr Whiteaker said the main reason for the meeting was to gain clarity on Ms MacTiernan’s stance on Royalties for Regions, so the Shire knew where to direct its energy.
He said it was also to inform the new minister of the Shire’s current and future developments, including the CBD redevelopment, so the new government wass aware of the changes occurring in town.
Mr Whiteaker said in last week’s Advocate that the Shire hoped the Government would continue to support Royalties for Regions and the SuperTowns project.
“We will continue to put our projects and initiatives forward to the WA government seeking their assistance in helping us achieve our community aspirations,” he said.
