Constantly reminding a city-centric State government of the communities, industries and issues beyond the suburbs is the aim of Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party election candidate Diff Reynders.
He hopes Saturday’s election will provide him with the chance to do just that by making him the new Member for Central Wheatbelt.
“In short, (the Central Wheatbelt needs) better outcomes for farmers, shooters, and fishers,” Mr Reynders said.
“We need a government that supports our farmers in policy and principle.
I’m not a career politician, I bring with me an in-depth and actual experience of the issues facing many (Central Wheatbelt) constituents day in, day out.

“Farming and agriculture need to be at the forefront of policy for regional WA,” he said.
Mr Reynders said he was well acquainted with the issues of concern to regional people, having worked on farms across the electorate for more than 11 years.
He is a farm manager and has an advanced diploma in agricultural management.
Mr Reynders said his contact with people across the electorate while campaigning had confirmed “there is a big lack of trust in traditional political parties”.
“People feel like they are being ruled - not governed – (by) an out of touch, inner city-based government. “I’m committed to reminding the establishment political parties that people do live and work outside (of) Perth.
“I’m not a career politician, I bring with me an in-depth and actual experience of the issues facing many (Central Wheatbelt) constituent’s day in, day out,” he said.
Other Federal policies that the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party supports include:
- Firearm ownership
- Sustainable and viable recreational and commercial fishing can exist and expand.
- Farmers deserve better recognition and security from the government.
- Right of access to public waters and land for people to undertake lawful recreational activities.
- An economy which puts Australian interests first.
