Eric and Georgina Lawrence have been married an unbelievable amount of time, in this day and age.
The 91-year-old couple will be celebrating their 70-year-anniversary next month on March 1, 2017 along with their daughter Theresa and son Theo, who were both married on exactly the same day.
The couple met in school , were engaged in 1946 and married in 1947.
“We were married in the Methodist Church in Northam, which is the Uniting Church now,” said Georgina.
The couple built a 44-square metre house together and ran a poultry farm after they were married.
“Georgie hammered all the floorboards in with a little drill and a hammer with a long handle,” said Eric.
“That’s how it was done back then.”
When asked how they have managed to stay together for so long – the couple offered an insight into their relationship.
“Patience has seen us through,” said Georgina.
“Working together...give and take. “That’s what we have done!”
