Prospect House was built in the 1930s, when West Northam was the thriving centre of the town of Northam with the main railway station, Grand Hotel and several businesses all nearby.
John Talbot Hobbs and Walter James Forbes were the renowned and respected architects of the area.
The property is being used as a private residence but with the zoning being "Mixed Use" it has the potential for many uses, subject to council approval. It is on two titles totalling 2024-square metres, with some 849-square metres of buildings.
The current owners bought the property in 1992 and since then have continually upgraded and renovated it. Now, the time has come for someone else to complete the vision.
All windows on the facade are double glazed, with Shire and heritage approval.
The ground floor has four bedrooms, a large lounge room, sitting room, office, kitchen and bathroom complete with a spa bath. The second bathroom and laundry are outside the main home.
Upstairs the owners have started, but not completed a six-bedroom, six-bathroom renovation. Each bedroom is 20-square metres with the ensuite 10-square metres. An incomplete, communal kitchen area is also on this floor.
On the second title is an unfinished section which could be a studio, granny flat or office. On the grounds is a three-car garage, a shed, a shadecloth-covered orchard and raised garden beds plus outside toilet. There is rear access and plenty of parking.
