WA College of Agriculture - Cunderdin again came out on top among the agricultural colleges in the number and percentage of its year 12 students achieving the WA Certificate of Education in 2016.
A tightening of requirements by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority meant a small drop in the percentage of students across the state to gain a WACE.
However, in results released by the SCSA last month, the Cunderdin college came out ahead of the four other colleges of agriculture with 93.8% (60) of its 64 eligible students qualifying for the certificate.
The results for the other colleges of agriculture were: Denmark with 89.5% of 38 students qualified for the WACE; Harvey 86.2% of 58; Morawa 60% of 20 and Narrogin 87.2% of 38 students. Cunderdin was also among the schools with the highest performing students in year 12 ATAR courses.
Principal David De Meo, said the integration of theory with practical activities was an important aspect of the college curriculum and better prepared students for work or further study after they graduated.
"We work hard to ensure the courses we offer are relevant and have dedicated staff with appropriate qualifications to deliver them,” said the principal.
