Northam girl Aleisha Power represented Australia in the Jillaroos Hockey Under 21 Junior World Cup team and has returned home with a bronze medal.
The cup was held in Santiago, Chile last year from November 24 to December 4.
The Jillaroos played Spain for the bronze medal and the game went to a shoot-out following a one all score at full time.
Goalkeeper Aleisha played a large role in securing the win on the day, stopping three out of four shots and leading the team to its first Junior World Cup medal in 15 years.
Like the Olympics, the World Cup is hosted every four years and over the week and a half Australia played China, Spain, Belgium, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, The Netherlands, South Korea, Russia and England.
Currently 19 years old, Aleisha has also recently been selected for the Jillaroos Under 23 team comprising of 18 women, which is a huge accomplishment at such a young age.
