Girl’s Country Cricket Carnival – January 4-6
LAST week local girl Melinda Lucas took a team of under 15 girls from the Wheatbelt region down to Perth to compete in the annual Girl’s Country Cricket Carnival (GCCC).
The formats the girls play are indoor cricket, Super 8’s and T20’s. This year there were 10 teams in the competition including two teams from Finland.
Each team was also given the opportunity to attend the Big Bash game at the WACA between the Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat.
The Wheatbelt team, consisting of 10 girls, finished seventh out of the 10 teams, but overall were happy with their results. Well done girls.
