FEDERAL Football club enjoyed an intimate gathering at the home of Tony and Lorna for their Christmas celebrations at the end of last year.
Part of the function was for everyone to bring an item, that would be included in a hamper and donated to families within the community that were in need.
Four large hampers filled with items were donated to Father George from the Catholic Church, who distributed the goods among local families.
The children were thrilled with the arrival of Santa and had the chance to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
Federal president Phil Robinson said the get together gave the children and adults a chance to celebrate Christmas and the new year.
Robinson said the club had a fairly successful season in 2016.
“In the League we finished fifth.
“Maybe we could have been a bit higher on the ladder but we lost a few close matches.
“The Reserves lost in the grand final.
“Unfortunately they didn't gel together on the day.
“We finished the season on the top of the ladder, but didn't end up with the major prize at the end.
“Netball we did well and will be competitive again this year.”
Robinson said new football coaches have been selected for 2017.
“We have Alistair Smith coaching League, who coached in 2015,” he said. “Steve Rakowski has played Reserves in the club for quite a few years and will be coaching this year.”
The season starts in April, with pre-season in February.
