Public consultation for the review into Western Australia's child protection laws opened on Thursday, December 1.
The review is part of a government initiative to protect and nurture the State’s most vulnerable children and families.
Minister for child protection Andrea Mitchell said the government was determined to ensure the Children and Community Services Act 2004 provided a strong response to increase the safety and wellbeing of children, individuals, families and communities.
"To ensure all stakeholders have an opportunity to contribute during the public comment period, the State Government will be consulting with community groups, including Aboriginal groups, across Western Australia,” she said.
"This provides an important and timely opportunity for all interested stakeholders to have their say in effectively strengthening the foundation of our child protection system.
