Two graduates from Northam Senior High School have started working at the Northam Shire.
Jared Wynne and David Slater went to the high school from Year 8 and were both apart of the Northam Clontarf Foundation.
On Friday night the boys received their graduation certificates at the Northam Clontarf Foundation’s Awards Ceremony, where David received the Good Bloke Award and Jared received the Clontarf Spirit Senior Award.
The 18-year-olds will undertake three months of both roadworks and gardening and then choose one position to continue on a full-time basis.
Northam Clontarf Foundation operations officer Jarrod Chipperfield said the boys applied themselves through school.
“They did the work and kept chipping away,” he said. “They both did traineeships, one day a week, which proved they were keen and gave them experience in the workforce.”
Mr Chipperfield said the boys were also talented football players, being part of the WA Football League last year.
