Bachelor runner-up Nikki Gogan was one of three Fashions on the Field judges at the Northam Ladies Day Races on Sunday October 9.
The ladies event oozed with style, ranging from stand out extravagant pieces, to minimalistic classic outfits – attracting women from all over Western Australia to showcase their race look.
Nikki said she chose the latter and attempted a minimalistic look this year, with earthy colours and subtle makeup.
She said wearing a jumpsuit is not traditional race wear, but she wanted to do something a little different.
The Northam girl said she wore her outfit to the Broome Cup earlier this year, but made a few alterations this weekend.
“I changed my hair and my jewellery,” she said.
“I love feathers, so we added feathers and crystals to the headpiece.”
When asked what she looks for as a judge, Nikki responded: “Confidence”.
“Someone that is comfortable in what they are wearing,” she explained.
“Two women could get up in the exact same thing but it could look completely different on two different people.”
Nikki said she currently has no plans to leave Northam, however she is open to the possibility of falling in love elsewhere.
“I do love it here and love what I do – I don’t have any plans in the near future to leave here,” she said.
“I think my life partner is probably not in Northam, I feel like I would have met him by now.”
Nikki said she would not accept an offer to be the next Bachelorette, if she was asked at this point in time.
“I have been asked that a lot recently – I am nowhere near ready for that,” she said.
“Maybe in a year's time if I did get asked and I wasn’t with someone then maybe I would possibly consider it... but I am just not there yet.”
