THE annual International Highland Dancing Championships were held recently in Sydney.
Northam girls Charlotte Fieldhouse and Charlotte Stephen danced their feet off on the Saturday with Fieldhouse winning in the 10 and over level and Stephen winning runner-up in 8/9 level.
On the Sunday, Fieldhouse became runner-up in her level and also won a special prize for her efforts.
A total of 12 medals and four trophies were brought back to Northam.
Dancing teacher Joy Smith said the trip was a success.
'I am very proud of the girls,” Joy said.
“They danced their best and winning is not necessarily what it is all about...to have the opportunity to travel, learn and grown in Highland is a great experience.
“I would like to thank out sponsors and also the community for their continued support.
“Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising when we fall,” she said.
