The police report came in on Saturday morning at 11am: a large group of individuals acting suspiciously in the vicinity of 15 Wood Drive Northam. Most appeared to be disguised in jackets, jumpers and beanies and armed with clubs.
Apparent ringleader Brad Parker confessed the gathering was to relieve people of their money. Fortunately Senior Sergeant Geoff Dickson was able to corroborate Parker’s story but clarified that the 74 people assembled were participating in the 2016 Police Legacy Golf Day.
A cold day greeted the group of players with mixed abilities from first “offenders” to serial re-offenders. No matter their experience, the players’ intent was to have a good day and raise money for this worthwhile cause.
