AN optimistic outlook for the season drove a huge number of sales at the 52nd Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days last Wednesday and Thursday.
Coupled with good weather a crowd of more than 25,000 attended, up from 23,000 people last year.
Dowerin Events Management chairman Michael Metcalf said he was happy with the attendance and exhibitor figures.
“We are about 10 per cent up on last year’s exhibitors,” Mr Metcalf said.
He said the event had been growing over the years, with some significant changes building momentum.
This year’s event included a new equestrian exhibit pavilion that was well received.
Mr Metcalf said the whole event was a celebration of agriculture and where the industry was right now.
“Farmers have really enjoyed it,” he said.
“There are a lot of new releases. This season has to be the best we’ve seen in this region for more than 10 years, with well above-average rainfall for the growing season.
“To top it off we were blessed with sunny days.”
