A BIG weekend of golf was held in Northam over three days to contest the WFI trophy on the Friday and the Kennedy Cup on Saturday and Sunday. There were large fields of more than 50 players, both men and women coming from all over the Wheatbelt and as far away as Albany.
The competition started on Friday with the WFI trophy, a four ball better ball event, with close scores in all divisions.

Mixed team: Clayton Smith and Sascha Yates with a score of +8;

SATURDAY and Sunday‘s competition was a stableford event with the winner taking home the Kennedy Cup. Wet and windy weather greeted the field on both days, so in order to be on the winners podium at the end of the weekend the winner would need to play the conditions well and put two good scores together.
