A GOOD field of 16 players were out in excellent conditions to contest the inaugural Visitors Day, a 4BBB combined Stableford competition sponsored by the Northam Club.
This is a pairs event where both scores are combined at the end of the day and the pair with the highest score wins.
One pair, Andrew Quinn and visitor Shayne Wynne were tearing up the course, with Quinn paring 5 holes for a total score of 37 points and Wynne with 6 pars and a total score of 45 points were too good for the remainder of the field; Quinn and Wynne winning the day with a combined total of 82 points.
Runners-up and a distance back with 66 points were Kevin Smith and Don Bates with a combined score of 66 points.
One of the best shots of the day was Gary Balts 310-metre drive on no. 16.
Balt described his driver as “magic” usually because the golf ball disappears without a trace.

Visitors Shayne Wynne 3 novelties, Kane Robinson 1 novelty, Wade Hunter had the worst shot of the day –his drive lodged firmly in a tree.
