THIS year will see a new Rising Star Award given to the most outstanding school-age cricketer playing in the NCA competition.
Every four rounds a player will be nominated for the final award, that will be presented at this year’s grand final.
Congratulations to Kevin Wakefield from Toodyay A who is the nominee for Rounds 1-4.
He takes wickets each game, is good in the field taking catches and has even had a shot at wicket keeping the past two weekends.
We cannot forget to mention his 95 not out against Yongah Hill last weekend.
This was his first ever fifty and would have been his first century.
Unfortunately, he ran out of other batsmen.
Kevin has come a long way since the junior days and is most rewarding of the Rising Star nomination for Rounds 1-4.
Congratulations to Kevin who will receive a voucher to Cadd’s.
