NORTHAM has been selected to host this year’s National Ballooning Championships.
The event which is set to be a magnificent opportunity for spectators and takes place from August 28-September 6.
It will attract thousands of visitors to Northam.
The championships consist of a number of competitive hot-air balloon elements which require skill and nerve.
“This event will attract balloon pilots from all over the world to Northam,” Northam Aero Club’s Errol Croft said.
The club, together with Events Corp and the Shire of Northam, will be delivering a number of additional complementary activities during the event to entertain the community - including the balloon glow and fiesta, the school open experience day, The History of Ballooning display at the Northam Visitor Centre, a ballooning photographic gallery and a photography competition.
Northam Nationals are collaborating with other existing activity providers from within the community to showcase opportunities available in Northam.
“We want people to think back to this event and remember the positive experience they had in Northam,” Mr Croft said.
