TOUCH Rugby team the Warriors are the beneficary of new uniform tops.
Member for Central Wheat belt Mia Davies and Paul Brown MLC were in attendance last Wednesday to meet the team's coach James West.
"Mia and Paul sponsored the tops the team and I are very grateful and the kids are proud to wear them," Mr West said.
The Warriors are a mix of girls and boys, with the youngest member aged nine and the oldest 15.
They play every Wednesday at the Jubilee Oval.
"By wearing this uniform, it doesn't matter what your gender or background because everyone is a Warrior," Mr West said. "We will be using the uniforms for a variety of different activities." Uniforms are handed in after each activity to be washed and re-used.
"We now have a goal of attending a Perth competition," Mr West said.
"This way the team has something to strive for and if we are unsuccessful in such a competition, we can come back and improve."
Member for Central Wheat belt Mia Davies said she was more than happy to help out in donating uniform tops.
"Learning about supporting each other is really important, and given I am now the Minister for Sport and Recreation I will be taking a keen interest in the fortunes of the Warriors," Ms Davies said.
