NORTHAM Springfield Football Club celebrated its last training session of the season at Bert Hawke Oval with presentations to the players and the committee, a sausage sizzle, and a friendly match for the players against coaches.
It was the club's fourth season in Northam and it is going strong with 55 registered player, with the hope to continue to grow next season.
President Charmaine Schelfhout expressed her thanks to all the sponsors.
"It's great to see local businesses supporting local sporting groups in the ability to provide a healthy and active community lifestyle for our younger generation," she said.
"Our club's support has been greatly appreciated from Dr Ron Lersa and Valmai from Northam Chiropractor, Quins Butchers, Sportspower, Northam Rotary, Mia Davies (Local MP), Shire of Northam, Northam Scout Group and the Northam Workers Club."
Ms Schelfhout said thanks must go to retiring president Terry Larkin who hds been at the club since it began four years ago.
"He has been a coach, committee member and president of the club for the last two years," she said.
"It is people like him with dedication and passion to see sport being offered to children in the Avon region that help our community grow."
Larkin will continue to be on the committee for the newseason.
