Cricket
AFTER a couple of weeks to whet everyone's appetite with some awesome displays of T20 cricket, the first round of 40-over cricket commences this weekend.
We will continue with more T20 during the season, and we are fortunate to host the Toyota T20 Country Cup on November 9 at Bert Hawk.
Northam, Bunbury, Wyalkatchem and East ern Districts play off to progress to the next round.
The times are 8.30am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
All interested players please contact Clara on 0400 970 274 or advise John Lucas on 9574 2406, whether you can play one game or all three, numbers are needed as soon as possible.
There will be a canteen available.
After much deliberation, the new Northam-based cricket team will be called Towns.
Towns has a long history with the Northam Cricket Association, with many infamous local cricketers representing the club, so wat is a great decision by the players.
Towns will be training at Bert Hawke on Thursday nights at 5pm, so head down if you are interested in playing cricket this season, as there are a few spaces available.
They have an A-grade and B-grade side, so there is a place for you, regardless of your ability and just want to enjoy the game. Any queries, please call Clara.
This weekend's fixtures: A-grade start 12.50pm, Saturday Grass Valley versus Tooday at Bert Hawke 1; Federals versus Yongah Hill at Bert Hawke 2.
B-grade starts at 12.30pm, Sunday, Grass Valley versus Toodyay at Bert Hawke 2
