TO raise awareness and funds to support Alzheimer's Australia, Maryanne Phillips of Wine and Horses in Perth Hills will be leading a group of up to 30 riders on horseback on a trail of up to 100 kilometres.
The riders will leave from Wooroloo on November 15 and follow the Kep Trail and CY O'Connor pipeline to Northam before returning to Wooroloo the next day.
To make the fundraiser achievable for everyone, there is also a shorter ride option from Clackline to Northam and return.
This is about 20km per day, which is a great social ride for most levels of fitness.
Riders and their families and friends can camp overnight at the Avon Valley Equestrian Centre in Northam, for an entertaining evening with dinner, live music and a fundraising auction.
"Anyone is invited to join us for the fundraising evening where we will auction items such as vouchers for veterinary consultation, livestock feed, restaurants and accommodation, beauty treatments, food, landscaping/gardening plus wine hampers," Ms Phillips said.
"All funds raised from the auction will go directly to support the charity, so please come along from 7pm for a great night out, plus some amazing bargains."
RSVPs are a must for catering purposes.
"We'd love to hear from anyone who can provide support on either day of the event," Ms Phillips said.
"We still require a few extra marshals to assist with road crossings and people to transport equipment to and from the campsite."
Donations to Alzheimer's Australia can also be sent via each rider's page at everydayhero.com.
If you would like to participate in the event, or provide sponsorship or assistance, contact Ms Phillips on 0439 957 237 or email wineandhorses@ bigpond.com.
