STAFF, students and parents from St Joseph's School recently competed in the Annual Cancer Council Relay For Life event.
In the 24-hour event, teams challenged themselves to take turns to keep a baton moving in a relay-style walk or run overnight.
The St Joseph's School team of 22 students, four parents and six staff members did a more than admirable job as they completed 628 laps.
They were declared the team with the greatest number of laps.
The St Joseph's team kept the baton moving despite the cold, rain and a strong gust that wind that completely lifted the team's rain shelter.
Ignoring their aching legs, the team continued the 24-hour vigil to raise much needed funds to fight against a disease which has claimed so many loved ones.
"We congratulate the team and are proud to have had them represent our school and the Northam area in this event," principal Carmen Cox said.
