THE Avon Junior Football League season ends this coming Saturday with grand finals day.
Both Northam teams of Saints and Barons will play out the 13s grand final with Saints and Toodyay competing to see who become premiers in the 16s division.
In the penultimate round last weekend Barons and Saints run out winners against Toodyay and York respectively in the 13s.
In the 16s Saints defeated Barons in the local derby with Toodyay defeating a gallant York. Scores from last Saturday semi-finals were 13s Barons 18.19 (127) defeated Toodyay 3.2 (20) and Saints 11.8 (74) d York 0.3 (3).
The 16s score line was Saints 12.8 (80) defeated Barons 7.3 (45).
A much younger Barons team were gallant against a more mature team in Saints who have a number a very talented players.
Best players for the 13s Barons Griffin Podmore, Seth Rose, Mack Hall, Avon Garlett - Toodyay Riley Blankendaal, Alan Narkle Saints Kayden Elliot, Nathan O'Driscoll and Ethan Moody, 16s Barons Sydney Stack, Cody Kickett, Malachi Owers - Saints Lachlan Dunkerton, Cameron Watson, David Slater.
All games on grand final day will be played on Henry St Oval starts with a round robin format for the 9s and 11s involving York, Toodyay and the two Northam teams Saints and Barons.
Saints and Barons kick off proceeding at 8am.
The 13s grand final starts at 10.30am with presentation of the season fairest and best and grand final best on ground.
The 16s will be played immediately after the conclusion of the presentation.
The 16's grand final game will offer a display of football talent from both teams as some of these players play up in either reserves of league for their local towns.
Games between these two teams have been fiercely contested throughout the season, with neither team dominating.
Presentation for 16s season awards and grand final awards will take place after the completion of the 16s game.
The club thanked Karen Henderson for taking on the laborious task of the AJFL registrar and Mick Casey who stepped in as president this season.
