THE new Australian government mobile service centre Golden Wattle' will give people in the Wheatbelt region easy access to essential government payments and services in September.
The mobile service centre will visit Quairading and Merr edin to offer Centrelink and Medicare payments and services, child support information and hearing health checks.
Service centre manager Scott Walcot said the centre was a travelling outreach service that shortened the distance between rural and regional communities and government services.
"We're pleased to be bringing the new mobile service centre to the Central Wheatbelt," he said.
"Golden Wattle is a mid-range rigid truck set at up as an office, that has been custom-built so we can travel down dirt roads and reach isolated regional communities that our larger mobile service centres have been unable to access.
"Golden Wattle has the same technology as any other Medi care or Centrelink service centre, including access to self-service facilities.
"It's also wheelchair accessible and has a soundproof room where we can conduct free hearing health checks.
"The staff on board are specialists in rural servicing and offer information and services tailored to meet the needs of each community."
The mobile service centre will visit Quairading on Sept ember 8 from 10.30am-3.30pm at the Community Resource Centre car park, Parker Street.
They will also visit Merredin on September 9 from 9am-3.30pm, opposite the Comm unity Resource Centre, Barrack Street.
