EXPLOSIVE duo, Foreign Architects, are on the road for the first time, and blazing their way into Northam to perform at the Avon River Festival.
The Perth-based band, less than a year old, has already released its debut EP Jane, attracted commercial radio's attention with airplay on Airplay 96FM and Mix 94.5 as well as the official Jane Music Video being featured on RAGE.
The talented cousins have recently performed to a crowd of 11,000 when they played at halftime at a Perth Glory game, and the ride shows no signs of slowing.
Singer/songwriter for the band, Matt Burke, was thrilled when the opportunity arose to perform at the festival .
"It's so exciting to take our music on the road, and to new audiences," Mr Burke said.
The band won't be complete strangers in Northam, however, with Matt's girlfriend hailing from the proud town.
"We've heard all about the festival - the street parade, the fireworks, the music, we're not quite sure what to expect but we can't wait to be a part of it," Mr Burke said.
"Sometimes playing in the city you can be just another band playing in another pub, so we're looking forward to being part of something that really brings the community together".
The band's fun, energetic sound has been described as "a little Powderfinger, a little Ben Harper" (Blake Williams, Mix 94.5), making them a broadly appealing choice for the festival.
The Avon River Festival takes place on Friday, August 1, and Foreign Architects take the stage at 5pm.
