VAL Christmass recently finished treatment for Lymphoma, a blood cancer.
After attending a Life Now exercise course provided by Wheatbelt GP Network she is finally better.
Ms Christmass said she got a huge amount out of the course and her range of movement and general mobility around the house has greatly improved.
"I first found out about the program in The Avon Valley Advocate and I have improved over 50 per cent from the measurements at the start of the course," she said.
Prior to the course, chemotherapy affected her muscles to the point she didn't even have enough strength to turn the keys in the ignition of her car.
"This was a loss of independence and I now have it back," she said.
Although the exercise classes are over, yoga is now running at the Allied Health Rooms, 104 Wellington Street on Thursdays, 9-10am.
People living with cancer, their carers and family members are invited to take part in the free program.
"We need more people to come down," Ms Christmass said.
"It's also a great opportunity to meet people and discuss a host of similar issues you may be facing."
