TWO men in the Wheatbelt have been charged with stealing trucks, trailers and cargo valued at more than $1 million.
It is alleged Darren Evans and Jeffrey Bernsten, both 39, stole trailers from truck stops around the state before taking them to a property in Inkpen near York.
Police believe they have smashed a multi-million-dollar racket involving the rebirthing of trucks and trailers.
They uncovered it while investigating reports the men were trying to sell stolen wool bales valued at $80,000. Mr Evans, who owns the property at Inkpen, has been charged with six counts of receiving stolen property valued at $600,000.
Mr Bernsten has been charged with 10 counts of receiving stolen property, valued at $1.5 million.
The men were granted bail to return to court on July 9.
