NORTHAM Men’s Shed was presented with $500 worth of tools last Wednesday.
Commonwealth Bank branch manager Clara Watson presented the tools to shed president Bob Sims at the group’s premises in Duke Street.
This is the bank’s centenary year and around Australia it is presenting celebratory community gifts.
“Last year we gave to the women’s refuge so we thought it was the men’s turn this year,” Clara said.
“This is a fantastic initiative that has enabled us to make a difference to our local community.
“We look forward to another hundred years of supporting the communities in which we operate.”
The tools were provided by Mitre 10 in Northam at a discount which enhanced the value of the bank’s gift.
“We wish to extend our gratitude to the Commonwealth Bank, Northam branch for providing us with this gift,” Bob said.
“It is a great indication of their sense of community and will be very well received.”
Northam Men’s Shed has 37 members and is a member of the Australian Men’s Shed Association.
