Fourth successive title in ladies darts

JULY saw the relatively new mother and daughter team of Glenda Hammond and Mel Hall almost take the New Avon Ladies’ Darts doubles championship away from the reigning champions Irene Lucas and Thelma Shipard.

However, after a long and arduous battle, the reigning champions proved they had what it takes to win their fourth doubles championship.

Congratulations to the final four and, for the rest, better luck next year.

It was a very exciting night with many great pegs and high scores thrown.

The highest score of the night was 152 thrown by Irene Lucas.

Many thanks to the Northam Workers Club for supplying the venue and the delicious supper and to all those who supported the event and helped to make it the great success that it was.
