Incomplete Northam houses vandalised

OWNER/BUILDERS in Northam are experiencing vandalism which is making the building of their homes far more difficult.

One man building a house in West Northam has had to put off painting as five windows were smashed, the lounge room had a hole in the Gyprock wall the size of a fist and some cladding was destroyed.

“I think neighbours would have heard or seen what was happening but were too scared to make a call,” the owner, who does not wish to be named, said.

“The general public needs to report this sort of thing to the police.”

Meanwhile more windows have been broken at the six derelict Department of Housing dwellings in Duke Street.

Despite the fact that completion work is due to be under way, nothing is happening at the site – except more damage.
